AI & INTELLIGENT AUTOMATION

Enterprise Intelligent Automation Portfolio

Business challenge

Large-scale airline operations involve repetitive, time-sensitive processes across multiple enterprise systems. Many of these activities require significant manual effort, creating opportunities to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and scalability through intelligent automation.

Role & responsibilities

Working as a Business Analyst and subsequently as a Product Owner, I contributed to business analysis, automation opportunity assessment, requirements definition, stakeholder coordination, backlog prioritization, and delivery governance across an enterprise automation portfolio.

Technologies & approach

The portfolio combined robotic process automation (RPA), AI-enabled capabilities, enterprise system integrations, and structured delivery practices. Automation opportunities were evaluated against business value, operational feasibility, complexity, and expected payback. The work covered more than 200 successfully implemented automation initiatives across airline business functions.

Business impact

The automation initiatives delivered more than 70 full-time-equivalent (FTE) operational efficiency gains across the portfolio. Selected examples include aircraft component maintenance workflows, group reservation processing, flight schedule change management, and flight and passenger migration during an airline transformation.

SELECTED CASE STUDIES

Examples from the Portfolio

Aircraft Component Maintenance Automation

Maintenance personnel previously evaluated aircraft components and coordinated follow-up actions through manual workflows. A mobile-enabled solution was integrated with RPA to support maintenance decisions and execute authorized transactions in enterprise systems. The automation reduced repetitive work and delivered approximately 10 FTE in operational efficiency gains.

Group Reservation Evaluation & Approval

Group booking requests required evaluation across reservation and passenger service systems. An integrated automation solution streamlined request validation, eligibility checks, approval decisions, and booking-related activities. The solution supported faster processing, greater operational consistency, and a multi-million-dollar commercial impact.

Flight Schedule Change Automation

Flight schedule changes that could not be handled automatically required manual review and updates across operational systems. RPA was introduced to process eligible exceptions and perform the necessary updates. The solution delivered approximately 10 FTE in efficiency gains and reduced average processing time by around 9.5 times.

AJet — Flight & Passenger Migration

During the transition from AnadoluJet to AJet, flight and passenger records needed to be migrated between airline systems within a tightly coordinated operational window. As a Business Analyst, I contributed to the automation work supporting this transformation. The migration achieved 100% completion within its defined scope, with 97% of flights transferred without manual intervention. Work estimated at 189 person-days was completed within 23 calendar days.
